Pickford Film Center Grand Opening

After several years  and $3,000,000 the Pickford Film Center (PFC) was finished and opened for business in April. But they are having a community celebration of with a Grand Opening of it's new theater facility on Bay Street this weekend August 12-13. The festivities will feature film programming for all ages, free popcorn and drinks, live music, and a celebratory toast to kick off its first season of showing great films here in Bellingham.

"Friday, August 12th

4:00 – 6:00 pm
Grand Opening Happy Hour at PFC
Stop by for tours of the space, check out shorts in the theaters, and mingle with other celebrants during this special kick-off event. Free popcorn and select drinks, champagne toast and ribbon cutting by Bellingham Mayor, Dan Pike, at 5:30 pm.

6:30 pm
A Little Princess with live music score
An enchanting event featuring the 1917 silent film, A Little Princess, starring our namesake, Mary Pickford with music performed live on three harps - concert, Celtic and electric by musician extraordinaire, Leslie McMichael. 62 minutes. Tickets are $10 Member/$15 Non-Member and are available for purchase on line. Limited seating.

Throughout Friday Evening
Regularly scheduled films opened with live music by local musicians, free popcorn and select drinks for all and opportunities to win prizes too!

Midnight Madness with Evil Dead 2
Join us for this cult favorite starring Bruce Campbell and directed by Sam Raimi.
Tickets $2 Members/$3 Non-Members – tickets can be purchased online. 84 minutes/ rated R.

Saturday, August 13th

10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Classic Kiddy Matinee.
Bring the kids to this nostalgic screening of classic cartoons for the entire family featuring free popcorn, drinks and penny candy.

12:00 pm
Rocket Donut Sci-fi Matinee
The fun continues with our classic Rocket Donut Sci-fi featuring, Target Earth, when giant robots from Venus invade earth. 1954/rated G/75 minutes. Free popcorn, drinks and penny candy. Admission is also free."
