Roosevelt Neighborhood

The Roosevelt Neighborhood is located at the base of Alabama Hill with Alabama Street running through its center. It is a diverse neighborhood with newer apartments and single family homes, older single family homes, offices, warehouses and car dealerships. Many rentals are in the neighborhood.

Roosevelt Neighborhoot

Roosevelt Park has a playground, large field and basketball courts. 

Whatcom Falls Park is located along the southeast corner of the neighborhood. 

The 3.1 mile Railroad Trail runs through the neighborhhod and along the northern border behind Roosevelt Elementary School. The Railroad Trail is a pedestrian and bicycle trail that follows an old railroad grade from Memorial Park to Lake Whatcom.

Roosevelt Elementary School is located in the neighborhood. 

In general, students in the Roosevelt Neighborhood who live on the south side of Alabama Street fall within the Kulshan Middle School and Bellingham High School attendance areas. Students who live north of Alabama Street and west of Woburn are in the Shuksan Middle School attendance area. Students who live north of Alabama Street and east of Woburn fall within the Whatcom Middle School attendance area. All students who live north of Alabama Street are within the Squalicum High School attendance area. 

Elementary students living in the Roosevelt Neighborhood attend either Roosevelt, Northern Heights or Sunnyland Elementary School.  
Bellingham Public School attendance areas are adjusted periodically to accomodate changes in the city's student population.
