Silver Beach is a residential neighborhood that surrounds the northern end of Lake Whatcom. Lake Whatcom is the biggest of three lakes in the Bellingham area and it provides beautiful views and recreational opportunities for area residents. Lake Whatcom is also the source of the city’s drinking water.

The Silver Beach Neighborhood has a wide variety of ages and styles of housing ranging from the upscale, lakefront homes along Northshore Drive to rental properties and single-family homes off the lake. The majority of the housing is in good shape and there are many well-landscaped lots in the neighborhood. Most of the newer homes are located along Barkley Blvd in the northern end of the neighborhood and on the eastern side of Lake Whatcom off of Northshore Drive.
